You sent in the questions and we asked Santa for you.
Santa, the children would like to know how do we stay on the nice list?
“Great question! Staying on the nice list is all about being polite and helpful. So if there is any way throughout the year you can help your family and friends, perhaps helping around the house, or your school friends with homework. Remember, I’ve made my list, and I’ll check it twice to find out who is naughty or nice!”
How did you name all of your reindeer?
“I have to deliver millions of presents to every child all in one night, with enough time to eat my treats, of course! This means I needed the fastest reindeers in the North Pole, so I named Donner and Blitzen after the words Thunder and Lightning. My other reindeers Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid and Rudolph, were all named from Mrs Claus’ brilliant imagination.”
As there are so many elves how do you remember their names?
“Well, there’s a story behind this. Mrs Claus was getting fed up with me calling each elf by the wrong name! “It’s unprofessional and rude”, she told me. I said I didn’t want to end up on her naughty list, so my lovely wife sewed each name into the elves’ special matching uniforms, using magical thread. Unfortunately, the thread is only visible to those who live in the North Pole, but at least I can tell who is who now!”
Santa, a lovely little girl has asked “Am I still on the nice list if me and my sister fight sometimes, but we say sorry afterwards and hug each other?”
“Ho! Ho! Ho! Yes of course. All siblings fight, and I understand it’s not easy to be good all of the time! Rudolph once ate Blitzen’s dinner while he wasn’t looking! As long as you say sorry and give your sister a big cuddle, you will both be on the nice list this Christmas.”
A great answer! Santa, what happens if the house doesn’t have a chimney?
“What a clever question! What many children don’t know is that I carry my own magical chimney with me which fits on every house in the world. So don’t worry if you don’t have a chimney, Santa will always find a way to deliver your presents… and gobble up those mince pies you leave me!”
We don’t want to take up too much of your time – we know how busy you are! Final question – how do you fit down small chimneys?
“Not a lot of people know this, but I have a pouch of magical dust hidden in my suit that will shrink me down to fit right through the chimney! This means I can enjoy as many delicious treats as I like throughout the night. So be sure to leave me out a mince pie on Christmas Eve.“
We really enjoyed learning more about the North Pole and the delivery of our presents! As you can imagine, Father Christmas is very busy this time of the year, so getting an interview with him was very difficult. Have a very Merry Christmas – we hope you enjoy this magical season!
