Getting Married in 2020
January 25, 2020

Astrologically the luckiest day of 2020 to get married is February 20th 20-02-20 – the number 20 is said to represent ‘The Angel’ which is a symbol of new beginnings.

So now that we’ve sorted out the date – one or two other things need putting into place!
It can be a minefield thinking of everything you need to organise – so we’ve put together a few ideas to get you started.

Weddings in 2020 will be smaller budget affairs…good ole Brexit…and there will be a big rise in vegan and non alcoholic weddings. But hey, you can still blow the budget and have that fairytale wedding with all the bells and whistles.

Rule Number One – Set a budget
Rule Number Two – Sort the venue
Rule Number Three – Guestlist…who’s in..who’s out
Rule Number Four – The Dress…2020 will see metallic and lots of coloured tulle
Rule Number Five – Food, flowers, entertainment, bridesmaids…phew!!!!!
Rule Number Six…

Throw away the rule book, forget everyone else’s wedding plans and be an individual – make it your own, be creative… a wedding everyone will be talking about for a long time afterwards and not feel like a wedding everyone has already been to a hundred times before.

Here are a few ideas to set you on your way:

    • Make, borrow, scavenge and share-handmade things are great fun to create, rope in your bridesmaids and other family members it keeps the budget down and looks fab
    • Use dried flowers for confetti
    • Pebbles with guests’ names painted on as place names for tables
    • Collect jars and bottles for flowers as table centre pieces
    • Use old mirrors to write menus or table settings on
    • Pine cones – sprayed gold, silver or whatever colour you fancy…use to hold place names or in glass jars as decorations
    • Go green and Eco – cut the use of plastic and use sustainable items, shop locally and organic – also use recycled paper or even send out electronic invites…..Granny might not like it but it saves the environment and money.
    • Grazing tables – these can look amazing – sweet and savoury goodies to feast on – a real talking point and gets all your guests mingling.
    • Afternoon tea – Still popular and who doesn’t love a bit of afternoon tea…
    • Gin – thankfully Gin is still big!…set up a G&T station with your own signature cocktails created by you and your new spouse.
