INGREDIENTS:
• 1 roll of ready-made puff pastry
• 3 burger cheese slices
• 2 medium pickles, sliced
• Burger sauce
• Ketchup
• 8 sausages
• American Mustard
• 1 egg
• White sesame seeds
METHOD:
1 Preheat the oven to 200°C, gas mark 6 or the air fryer at 200°C.
2 Roll out the pastry from the sheet so it’s landscape and cut vertically down the middle so you have two pieces of pastry.
3 Towards the far edges, take your cheese slices, tear them down the middle and place them in a line close to the edge of the pastry so there’s a line of cheese from top to bottom on both sheets.
4 Sprinkle the gherkins along the top of the lines of cheese and cover with a line of burger sauce and ketchup.
5 Empty the sausagemeat from the casings and mould them into two thick sausages the length of the line of cheese and place them on top. Top the sausage meat with a line of American mustard.
6 Neatly roll up the sausage roll, crimping the sides and ends together and apply an egg wash.
7 Now score the pastry all along the sausage roll and sprinkle the sesame seeds on top.
8 Bake in the oven for 30 minutes, until puffed and golden or in the air fryer for 15 minutes.
