Now, this is the page we usually talk about the new films we are buzzing to hit the cinema screens. However, due to COVID-19, film productions and releases have been delayed and cinemas have therefore been shut for the last four months – evidently.
But let’s not discuss what’s already happened, let’s talk about what’s happening. Thanks to a number of organisations, drive-in cinemas are pulling up to various Cambridgeshire locations for the public to book and enjoy some classics.
Huntingdon Racecourse, Adventure Drive-In
On August 13th-14th, the Huntingdon Racecourse is opening up the gates for vehicles to drive in and enjoy a variety of awesome films. With built-in social distancing rules, BYOP (bring your own popcorn) rules and on-site toilets available, you are sorted for an epic night.
With two or three films showing both days, you and your party can enjoy classics such as Back To The Future and Pretty Woman or enjoy a Disney classic with the 1994 edition of The Lion King. Get your tickets for these showings before they sell out!
East of England Arena, Adventure Drive-In
From August 21st-August 23rd, Adventure Drive-In is also opening a second venue in Peterborough’s East of England Arena. However, this location is a three-day event and has more of a variety of exciting showings, including Knives Out (Friday 21st August 4:45pm), The Greatest Showman (Friday 21st August, 9pm) and Joker (Sunday 23rd August, 9pm)
Gonville Hotel, Enchanted Cinema
Enjoy an enchanted experience at Gonville Hotel’s very own outdoor cinematic experience in the hidden gardens. See all of your favourite films on the big screen this Summer, including Bohemian Rhapsody (Friday 7th August, 8:40pm), Forrest Gump (Sunday 16th August, 8:30pm) and Fight Club (Sunday 6th September, 7:40pm). Guests will be surrounded by magic light installations and live music from local artists before and after the screenings. Experience the magic and book your tickets ASAP for these awesome films.
Enjoy the magic with your friends, family and loved ones!
